Pixel Bavaria – Morgan Schwarzwald

Das Faerber is a new modern cafe which has recently opened in Bavaria, Germany.


Das Faerber approached us to create and design a series of Bavarian based characters that could be turned into posters and exhibited in their cafe. They wanted to celebrate Bavarian tradition in a new and modern design that would excite and educate the next generation. Each character wears a garment from a different town, has a traditional Bavarian name and showcases their own personality through the use of a background colour. In response to this brief, Pixel Bavaria was born. This is a set of quirky characters designed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Germany’s Bavaria by showcasing various traditional costume – in a modern way.
